Ford Conversion Headers

Hedman blockhuggers, driver's side from 88400, passenger side from 89500, some have ordered single pieces from Jegs or Summit. There's some sort of special part number so you can order just the two pieces you need.
Flanges cut off and replaced with 90 bend and 120 bend

Wrapped and installed in 2002 SE

Ford Motorsports/Patriot 8427 Headers. Same car, Jack changed his mind, wanted 1 5/8" headers. These headers stand off away from the block more than the Hedmans, so it's possible to use the flanges and bolt up the exhaust instead of cutting off the flanges and welding on extensions. They also require an offset of nearly 1 1/2" toward the passenger side and slight rework of the passenger side frame rail for clearance.

CARB approved Mustang headers. Since the motor was moved over pretty much the maximum, I decided to try some headers I had on hand. Just to see the possibilities. It appears to be possible with some additional massaging to make some room around the passenger side outlet.

This little corner of the subframe is right where the exhaust wants to be. This is the prototype subframe, the next version cuts this section at an angle to allow more room in this area, but this is definitely the tight spot. Someone a while back put a sizeable notch on the corner of the tunnel to clear the exhaust from headers similar to these. It looks like an "S" bend to run under the starter may work.
